How consumers’ shifting behaviors and technology are impacting the world of email marketing
Email used to be such a simple medium -- we’d log in to our Hotmail account (please take the time to shame yourself if this still applies to you) on our desktop and wade through the electronic stack of marketing emails, spam, letters of plea from Nigerian princes, Snopes-busted fear-mongering forwards from family members and finally a couple real emails, then get on with our day.
Now, according to Pew research, more than half of us use our phones to read email, and of the 42 percent of us that own tablets, email is the No. 1 activity reported. Meanwhile, we’re sending and receiving more emails than ever and there are a surfeit of tools and apps that aim to help us stem the tide of email deluge. One such tool, Unroll.me, will collect all of your marketing emails and deliver them in one bundle.
These changes impact our interaction with email, and present new challenges to those of us that touch email marketing in our jobs. Lucky for you, we’re bringing in Silverpop’s Jason Brett, senior software product manager, to talk about these changes and more in order to best prepare yourself for the new face of email.
Sign up today (unless you’re still using Hotmail, then use this time to get a Gmail address or something).
