Todd Van Nurden, Chief Technical Architect, Microsoft
Todd Van Nurden is the Chief Technical Architect in the Microsoft Technology Center in Minneapolis. He is uniquely skilled at devising and developing new and innovative applications of emerging technology. His current focus is on natural user interfaces and creating new ways of human interaction with the computer – what he calls “transparent computing”. His imaginative projects enable clients to create whole new customer and employee experiences.
Todd Van Nurden holds a Bachelor of Science degree from St. Cloud State University. As Chief Architect, he also leads the community outreach mission of the MTC, bringing technology assistance and education to schools, educational institutions and local charitable organizations. His work was featured on a nationally televised program, Making Monsters, where his Kinect-controlled animatronic creatures were the stars of the show.
||Zach Wendt, Software Engineer, Optum
Zach Wendt is a software engineer at Optum, working on R&D prototypes using a variety of virtual reality and motion tracking hardware. But his love of computer graphics began long ago, when he learned to program on an Apple II. Zach has organized the MN VR and HCI (Human Computer Interaction) meet ups for the past 3 years, where 50-60 developers and enthusiasts gather monthly. Pre-registration closes on at midnight prior to the event, at which point walk-in registration fees will apply for members, student members and nonmembers.
Cancellations received by the office at least two business days prior to the event are eligible for a refund of the registration fee. No refunds will be provided for cancellations received fewer than two business days prior to the event. No-shows will be billed for any unpaid registration fees.
If you have registered, are unable to attend, and would like to give your co-worker your “ticket,” please note that a pre-registered member to non-registered member switch-out is free. Switch-outs from members to non-members will execute an invoice to the attendee for payment after the event.
